5 Things to do in Wellington New Zealand

5 Dinge die du bei einem Wellington Städtetrip in Neuseeland machen solltest:

  1. Ein Spaziergang entlang der Waterfront
    Ein Spaziergang entlang des Wassers ist definitiv ein Must do in Wellington. Man findet dort einige schöne Märkte sowie auch einen größeren Markt in einer Halle. Bei uns war dieser sogar eine Art Weihnachtsmarkt. Hier gibt es keine typischen Souvenirs wie man die Märkte in Europa kennt, sondern sehr viel Handgemachtes, was ich persönlich 100 mal schöner finde.
  2. Eine Fahrt mit dem Cable Car
    Mit dem Cable Car Seilbahn hinauf zum Lookout wo man eine wunderschöne Aussicht über die komplette Stadt hat. Die Fahrt kostete 5$. Wir haben kein return Ticket gekauft und sind durch den tollen, sehr großen Botanischen Garten zu Fuß zurück zur Stadtmitte gelaufen.
    Man hat dort mehrere Wege (längere und kürzere) zur Auswahl. 🙂 Die Seilbahn ist ein Wahrzeichen der Stat und daher ebenfalls ein Must Do! Man findet dort oben ebenfalls ein schönes Café mit einer Terrasse von welcher aus man eine super Aussicht auf die Stadt hat.
  3. Cuba Street
    Mitten in der Stadt befindet sich die wunderschöne Cuba Street mit einigen Cafés, Restaurants, Bars sowie tollen Shops zum shoppen.
    Die Straße ist sehr bunt und ist es daher auch Wert, einmal durchzuschlendern.
  4. Parliament – Kostenlose Tour
    Am Sonntag Morgen haben wir uns entscheiden an einer kostenlosen Tour durch das Parlament teilzunehmen. Die starten immer zur vollen Stunde, man sollte aber ca. 15 Minuten vor Beginn dort sein um einen Sicheren Platz zu bekommen. Die Tour war super interessant, das Gebäude und die Räume darin sind wunderschön, leider war es allerdings nicht erlaubt Bilder zu machen. ( Die Kontrollen darin sind strenger als am Flughafen :D)
  5. Seelöwen bei den Redstones spotten
    Allen die mit einem Auto die Gegend um Wellington herum erkunden möchten kann ich empfehlen einen halt bei den Redstones zu machen. Vom Parkplatz aus läuft man ca. 1 Stunde einen schönen Walk am Strand entlang zur Stelle an der man einige Seelöwen spotten kann. Wir hatten Glück und haben drei beim schwimmen, sonnen und schlafen gesehen 😀 Wir sind allerdings nicht näher über die Steine zu ihnen geklettert, die Sicht von weiter weg war völlig Ausreichend.
